Biofuels legislation:
- California’s Low Carbon Fuel Standard will add an additional 1.3 billion gallons of ethanol and biodiesel to California’s fuel-mix in 2010. By 2020, this demand is projected to grow to over 8 billion gallons.
- Renewable Fuel Standard – Phase II mandates an annual 36 billion gallons of low-carbon fuels nationwide by 2022. This is nearly three times the phenomenal growth experienced from 1998 to 2008.
- California’s CaRFG3 Predictive Model creates a new E10 blend standard resulting in an increase ethanol use from 900 million to 1.5 billion gallons
- California’s State Alternative Fuels Plan calls for biodiesel to displace 1 billion gallons of diesel by 2018. The plan also requires the state to move all gasoline to E10. Finally, the plan expands the in-state E85 market.
